5 Reasons Not to Buy the 24 Day Challenge from Amazon

So you are tired of being overweight and unhealthy and are looking into the 24 Day Challenge…Great Choice…Now where should you purchase the 24 Day Challenge kit?

A lot of people turn to Ebay or Amazon to purchase the challenge bundle for various reasons but I’m going to give you 5 solid reasons why that is a bad idea :)

Amazon 24 Day Challenge

1.  It’s Illegal-  This may or may not be a concern to you, but people who sell any Advocare products outside of their dedicated Advocare web store, are operating illegally and are being prosecuted for doing so.  Advocare legal team is working hard to stop and prosecute non distributors from selling products this way for a number of reasons.

2. No Product Help-  Yes you may be able to get the 24 Day Challenge through an illegal non distributor and maybe save a few bucks, but in the long run is it really cheaper or worth it?

I have had a number of people who have purchased products from non distributors and they email me with questions and concerns saying they wished they had purchased through someone knowledgeable about the products.

The whole concept behind the Advocare business is for distributors to coach or help people with the products if they want help. Customers will be successful and can get questions answered when they arise from an independent distributor.

A second argument to this is that after I talk with a customer about their health concerns, there may be unnecessary products that you are buying that you do not need or would not be effective for you so your wasting time and money.

3. Your Purchase is Non Refundable-  If you purchase Advocare products from someone who is not a legal Advocare Distributor, you can not return your products for any reason because it must be done through that legal distributor or with Advocare directly proving you purchased product through a legal distributor. Advocare does not honor returns any other way.

4. Product Freshness-  When purchasing products from a non distributor, how do you know if the products are fresh and still effective?  You may be getting products that are out of expiration date.  Most ingredients are all natural and you want them to be effective and as fresh as possible when you purchase so you get exactly what you pay for.  It’s second hand products.

5. Missed Opportunity-  I realize that not everyone wants to become an Advocare distributor, and that is fine.  I am very much against being pushy and trying to get all people to become distributors, it’s just not for everyone.  There is something to be said though about a number of people who started using Advocare products, decided to become a distributor for the discount on products, and are now making full time incomes by sharing what they love with others.  Obviously if you purchase from a non distributor you would not be able to take advantage of the income opportunity or further discounts IF you become interested in doing so.

24 Day Challenge Breakfast and Snack Ideas

 Advocare 24 Day Challenge Menu Ideas

I wanted to add a few sections here with more recipe ideas including a healthy snacks section and breakfast ideas.  These menu ideas are for the AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge.

If you are on the 24 Day Challenge you want to make sure you have the Advocare 24 Day Challenge Daily Guide pdf for your overall directions and food portions.  Once you have that, you can go into planning out some menu’s and snack ideas.

Advocare 24 Day Challenge Breakfast Menu Ideas:

1.  Smoothies- Use your meal replacement shakes, or Muscle Gain, to make wonderful fruit smoothies for breakfast.  In terms of calories sometimes I use half the shake packet since I am adding fruit.

2. Whole grain toast with different toppings.  Here are some ideas:  toast with apple butter and sliced apples,  Whole grain toast with healthy peanut butter sprinkled with raisins and almond slices, and whole grain toast with hummus and chopped red peppers.

3.  Eggs Ideas:  Fried egg on whole grain toast, scrambled eggs with spinach and tomatoes, Egg Zucchini muffins, Hard boiled egg whites with avocado in a bowl.  See more ideas on my Advocare 24 Day Challenge Pinterest board

4.  Other ideas: Cottage cheese and fruit (during MAX Phase), low sodium Turkey roll ups with a scrambled egg in middle, and

Chocolate Banana Protein Pancake by Perry Santanachote

  • 2 scoops Meal Replacement Shakes protein powder in chocolate
  • 2 tablespoons gluten-free baking mix
  • 2 tablespoons ground flax seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 banana, mashed
  • 4 tablespoons almond milk 
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine all dry ingredients together with a whisk.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the egg, banana and almond milk.
  3. Gently pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients while mixing with a rubber spatula until just combined. Do not over-mix.
  4. Heat a large skillet over medium heat, and coat with cooking spray. Pour 1/4-cup rounds of batter onto the skillet, and cook until bubbles appear on the surface, about 3 minutes. Flip with a spatula, and cook for another 2-3 minutes.

  • Edamame-can be found in grocers freezer section. Steam in microwave and enjoy!
  • Low Sodium Turkey roll ups-Deli low sodium turkey slices rolled up for a quick snack.
  • Healthy Almond Butter or Peanut Butter on celery-no oil or sugar brands. Go with the all natural.
  • Muscle Gain smoothie- muscle gain pouch, water, and frozen strawberries.  Blend and enjoy!
  • Unsalted Nuts-prepare in small baggies for an easy pick me up!

Advocare Spark… What you should know!

One of my favorite AdvoCare products:

Spark is just one of those products that people love!

With 4 kids,  it can be tiring just day to day getting things done making sure everyone is where they are supposed to be etc…

Can you lose weight with Spark?

Spark is an excellent product to use while trying to lose weight.  By giving your body the energy you need this helps with weight loss.

What’s on the AdvoCare 10 Day Cleanse Menu?

This is a great question and one that needs to be answered if your doing the 10 Day Advocare Cleanse or the Advocare 24 Day Challenge.  It’s good to have a menu organized and ready.

Here are some general guidelines and overall Instructions for the Advocare 10 Day Cleanse:

1. Drink Plenty of Water!  Make sure you take your body weight divide it by 2 and drink that many ounces of water per day.  The water will help the cleanse do its job and flush those toxins out.

2.  Keep Moving!  Make sure you can get some exercise in even if it is just brisk walking, parking further away, or going up and down stairs.  Any extra movement can really help with ridding your body of waste that has piled up.

3.  Space Your meals 2-3 hours apart. Don’t skip meals, over eat, or eat less.  You want to have smaller portions but eat more frequently.  Don’t skip the healthy snacks.  This keeps your metabolism running.

4.  Avoid Dairy! This can be tough for some people but I think it is important to avoid dairy during the 10 day cleanse.  Dairy contains sugar and can help feed your gut with toxic waste instead of flush it out. Keep dairy off the menu.

5.  Follow the Plan!  It’s ok if you mess up but try and stay right on track with the Cleanse Phase guidelines.  Adjust your menu as needed.  You will receive instructions inside your Advocare Cleanse box or if your doing the 24 Day Challenge the instructions will be with your kit.

General Guidelines for the AdvoCare 10 Day Cleanse Menu and Meal Plan:

Foods to Eat:

(Goal is to “starve” the toxins)
• Fresh/Raw Fruits and Veggies (will serve as “S-O-S” pads to scrub out the toxins)
• 100% Whole Grain Rice (Brown rice, Wild rice), Quinoa
• Oatmeal
• Chicken, Fish, Turkey Breast, Ground Turkey
• Almond Milk, Rice Milk
• Healthy Fats: Avocado, Olives/Olive Oil, Raw Nuts/Seeds (unsalted and not coated with anything)
• Peanut or Almond Butter (no sugar or oil added)
• Beans, Lentils
• Chicken or Vegetable Broths
• Hummus (without the oil)
• Fresh Diluted Juices, Herbal Teas
• Garlic, Spices, Herbs, Fresh Salsa, Taco Seasoning (low sodium)
• For cooking, use water, broth, lemon juice, or the non-stick spray with no calories/fat (do not use oil)

Foods to Avoid:

(These products keep toxins alive, like throwing fuel on a fire)
• Alcohol (You’re on the Cleanse – hold off for 10 days!)
• Coffee, Sodas, Energy Drinks (only drink Spark or Slam)
• White foods/Starches (e.g. white pasta, bagels, white bread, white rice, processed foods, crackers,
chips)
• Sauces
• Cooking with Oils (it is best to cook with Water or Broth)
• Sugar, Honey, Desserts – (except for fresh fruits – these are good sugars on the 10-day Cleanse)
• Cheese & Mushrooms (both are “molds” and will help keep toxins alive)
• If at all possible, avoid Dairy Products (cow’s milk, yogurt, butter, etc…dairy products contain lots of
sugars and will feed the toxins)
• Fatty Foods, Fried Foods, Fast Foods, Meat with skin or breading
• Ground beef or fatty meats. Turkey meat is much better and you can season it to taste!
• Salad dressings (due to the fat and oil content – use Salsa or fresh squeezed lemon juice and spices
instead)
• Canned fruit or vegetables
• Dried fruit coated with sugar
• Instant rice or oatmeal

The following items are optional because they are not a low glycemic carb. For best results, hold off for 10 days:

• Sprouted Grain Bread or Tortillas (Ezekiel is a great brand)
• 100% Whole Grain Pasta
• 100% Whole Wheat Bread (make sure it says 100% or else it’s just white bread in brown clothing –
preferably Stone Ground Wheat)

Try These Yummy Clean Egg and Zucchini Muffins

24 Day Challenge Breakfast Recipes

These egg and zucchini muffins are yummy without the bread!  This is a great recipe for the days you don’t want your shake and would rather have breakfast on the 24 Day Challenge.

Serving: 12 muffins

Egg Zucchini Muffins Recipe adapted from Oxygen Magazine

INGREDIENTS

  • 14 egg whites
  • 4 whole eggs
  • 4 scallions, chopped
  • 2 carrots, shredded
  • 1/2 red pepper, minced
  • 1/2 zucchini, shredded
  • 1/2 tsp. basil
  • 1/4 tsp. oregano
  • Sprinkle of sea salt and pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Coat a muffin tin with spray and set aside.
  2. Combine veggies in a large bowl and fill each muffin tin about 2/3 full. Whisk eggs and seasonings in a large mixing bowl and using a 1/3-cup measuring cup, scoop egg mixture and fill each muffin tin to the top.
  3. Bake muffins for 30 minutes, until they’ve risen and are slightly browned. Enjoy!

Fat Flush Slimming Soup Recipe

I love this recipe and how healthy it is for you!  It really is filling.

This is a perfect lunch or dinner item to have during the 24 day challenge.

It’s very easy to make and has lots of flavor but the best part is the herbs and spices used help to flush the system of toxins.
– Lot’s of veggies to fill your body’s nutritional needs, plus anti-oxidants that will protect your cells and slow the aging process.
– Lean ground protein (like beef, turkey or chicken) that is an important building block for bones, muscles, cartilage, skin, and blood .
– Fiber-filled beans to dramatically reduce appetite while regulating blood sugar and making you feel fuller—faster.

Fat Flush Slimming Soup Recipe

Makes 10 to 12 cups (serving size is 2 to 3 cups)

Fat Flush Slimming Soup Recipe Ingredients

2 tsp. olive oil
1 ¼ lbs. lean ground beef, turkey or chopped chicken*
1 large onion, peeled and chopped
1 large red, orange and/or green pepper, seeded and chopped
1 large zucchini or yellow squash, chopped
8 oz. mushrooms, chopped
2 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped
1 bottle (46 oz.) reduced-sodium tomato or vegetable cocktail juice
1 can (15 oz.) pinto, garbanzo or black beans, rinsed and drained
1 can (14 oz.) crushed tomatoes
1 Tbs. fresh lime juice
1 Tbs. ground cumin
1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper, or to taste
¼ cup each fresh cilantro and parsley leaves, chopped

Directions

1. In sauce pot over medium-high heat, cook oil 30 seconds or until heated.
2. Add beef, turkey or chicken and cook 5 minutes or until cooked through, stirring occasionally.
3. Remove from skillet; drain, if desired.
4. In same sauce pot, cook onions, peppers, zucchini, mushrooms and garlic for 5 minutes or until vegetables are crisp-tender, stirring occasionally.
5. Stir in next 6 ingredients and cooked meat.
6. Add up to 1 cup water to thin soup, if desired.
7. Cover and bring soup just to a simmer (do not let boil). 
8. Reduce heat to medium-low and let simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
9. Stir in cilantro and parsley; cover and let simmer 5 minutes more.

Garnish with shaved Parmesan cheese, if desired. Soup can be stored up to 5 days in the refrigerator or frozen for 2-3 weeks.

Zachary (Zach Miller) Seattle Seahawks

With the Super Bowl 2014 around the corner I thought it would be good to highlight one of Advocare’s endorsers that will be playing Sunday.

AdvoCare 24 DVD Workout

Advocare 24 Workout DVD Reviews

It’s here!  The CU 24 level 2 workout series from Advocare.  I have started the workout and let me tell you it’s intense.

Here is the concept: 12 Total Workouts on DVD using a fitness ball and a power resistance cord for a lot of the sets.  You workout 24 minutes a day for 8 weeks.

Make sure and take your measurements and before pictures before Day 1 of the workout.

Here is what I love about it so far.  There are minute dots on the bottom of the screen to show you haw many you’ve done.

There is also a timer on the bottom of the screen showing you the high intensity moves for 45 seconds and then 15 seconds of rest for an example in the first workout.

They are all a little different.  Here are the various  types of workout you get.

DVD-1

Melt– These are cardio-focused workouts designed to melt calories while increasing endurance and stamina.  3 total workouts in this section.

Melt Interval-This is High Intensity Interval Training.  This workout uses all muscle groups and turns on the cardio for maximum calorie burn.  All of the lead trainers in the videos are Advocare distributors themselves and professional trainers.

Melt Interval-This one is a non-stop cardio workout full of unique and high energy moves.  No equipment needed for this one.

Shred Up-This one has an upper body and core focus.  There are also specially designed exercises that help increase strength and shred fat.

Sculpt-These are total body workouts that help to sculpt your body and focus on increase resistance training.

Sculpt Zone- Resistance and Cardio to define those muscles!

Sculpt Full-Total body resistance workout with short rest periods to sculpt and burn fat.

Sculpt Duo-You can do with a partner or on your own.  Designed to work many muscle groups promoting improved strength and definition.

DVD-4

Supplemental Workouts- These are the perfect companion to your workout routines giving you extra focus on specific areas of the body.

Upper Body Focus- Strengthen, shape, sculpt, and tone the upper body muscles including biceps, shoulders, triceps, and upper back.
