This past weekend I spent with family in Charlotte NC. We celebrated my dad’s 71’st Birthday :) He’s kind of a big kid so 71 doesn’t seem like his age to me at all.
We went to the FSU /Duke ACC championship football game. My brother and I both went to Florida State so we are all big fans…We are loving the fact that they are number one right now. It’s been awhile :)
Getting together with family can be both fun and exhausting depending on your relationships. I couldn’t help but notice how much food plays a role in every kind of celebration though. When your trying to eat healthy it’s not always easy at family get togethers….
Is it ok to indulge once in awhile? Sure…I think the key is to not go overboard. Don’t make it a weekend of gluttony. Family and food can go hand in hand and there is nothing wrong with birthday cake and ice cream on a small scale.
Sometimes we can take this healthy mindset thing to extremes. I think what I like about the overall concept of the 24 day challenge is that it is about a lifestyle change. It’s not about dieting for 24 days and then going crazy on cupcakes! It’s about changing the way we look at food and choosing things that are healthy…
treating our body right..
Don’t obsess about what your eating… If you mess up, rewind the next day and do an extra 20 min walk or bike ride to make up for it.
Don’t over think this…Yes food can be addicting but after you retrain you mind and body to crave what’s good for you, you can overcome it…Don’t let food control your life….

So keep those family celebrations coming and don’t forget that’s it’s ok to indulge once in awhile, just don’t over do it!
